Lasik Vs. Lasek?

Friday, June 11th, 2010

Dr. Chaim Goldberg from Toronto, Ontario has a special focus on safety and offers the LASEK procedure to his patients. During LASEK, NO FLAP is created, and there is NO CUTTING of the eye or cornea. The LASEK procedure is a much SIMPLER AND SAFER procedure than LASIK, and many patients who are not candidates for LASIK can be approved for LASEK. Many feel that there is less potential for side effects and less risk with the LASEK treatment option.

Anyone who does not want his or her eyes cut can opt for LASEK. Policemen, firemen, soccer players, golfers, athletes, and other Laser vision Correction patients with vision intensive occupations are good candidates for LASEK.

LASEK/Laser Vision Correction in Toronto for Police, Hockey Players, Firefighters and Military

Laser Eye Surgery for Police, Firefighters, Martial Artists and Hockey Players

LASEK is a form of Advanced Surface Ablation.  Lasek is known to be a  safer procedure as there is no cutting and no flaps and less than half the risk of complications (than LASIK)

LASEK is the ideal procedure for Laser Eye Surgery for Toronto lifestyles where trauma is more likely.  Especially in contact sports like: hockey, football, swimming, soccer, rugby and the martial arts.  Many careers like police, firefighters, astronauts, Top Gun Fighter Pilots and surgeons choose LASEK in Toronto as there is less risk.

For some Toronto patients their  corneas may be too thin and they are not good candidates for LASIK, LASEK is the ideal procedure choice.  People who have dry eyes may find the dryness worse after LASIK.  Enhancement after LASIK has higher risks.  These can be avoided with LASEK.
